BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Ado Yakubu Wanka Chairman Ado Yakubu Wanka is an alumni of Harvard Business School, Boston, United States of America and Institute of Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds a B.Sc.(second class upper) in Chemical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a MBA from the same university.

His work experience span over engineering to banking and investment. He started his career as a Process Engineer in Ashaka Cement Company Plc between the periods, 1978 1985. He later joined the New Nigeria Development Company Limited (1985 - 1988) where he served in various capacities of Senior Investment Executive and Head of Divestiture Department.

He had a brief stint with Nigeria International Bank Limited as Deputy Manager and later moved to Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC, 1988-1989) where he served in various capacities such as Head of Strategic Planning Section, among other post held. His outstanding management style further took him to FSB International Bank Plc (1991-1997) as Group Head, Institutional Banking from where he rose to Executive Director of various departments such as Business Development, Operations and Corporate Strategic Marketing.

From there he proceeded to then Gamji Bank of Nigeria Plc where he was the Managing Director/CEO (1997-1998). A Y Wanka finally joined the services of First Bank of Nigeria in 1998 till date where he held the position of Executive Director (Corporate/Investment Banking) and also Internal Nominee Director to subsidiaries such as First Registrars, First Trustees and Vnetworks (Vmobile).

Mohammed Kabir Musa Director Mohammed Kabir Musa is a product of West Bromwish College of Wednesbury West of Midland, United Kingdom, with a B.Sc. (Business Administration). He also holds a Post -Graduate Diploma and MBA from Polytechnic of Stock-on-Trent, United Kingdom, and Aston University, Birmingham respectively, including professional Diploma in Marketing and Purchasing and Supply from United Kingdom. He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB).

He worked with Ministry of Health (Principal Health Superintendent), High Court of Justice (Assistant Registrar) and Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Kaduna (Senior Commercial Officer). His span of experience also covered the banking industry where he rose to the position of Deputy General Manager before retiring to his private business. He is a member of the Board of Directors of many companies.

Al-Mujtaba Abubakar Gumi Director Al- Mujtaba Abubakar was born in 1951, attended Ledds Polytehnic in United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is highly experienced and knowledgeable in the financial sector of the economy; he was one time an Executive Director in Afribank Plc and later the Managing Director of Assurance Bank. Alh Al-Mujtaba is presently the Managing Partner of the Northern region of Akintola Williams Deloite & Co. (one of the leading audit firm in Nigeria). He is presently the chairman of the Board of APT Securities & Funds and Abdulson Nigeria Limited. Other companies of which he was a member of their Board includes Afribank Merchant Bank, IBWA finance company , Afribank Insurance Brokers and Kaduna Textiles Limited.

He later joined African Petroleum Plc and moved to New Africa Merchant Bank Plc where he was deployed to Newdevco Finance Services Company Limited where he acquired diverse experience in both the money market and capital market. He left Newdevco to Head the Management team of APT Securities and Funds Limited as a Director.

Jubril Muhammad Hassan Director He attended Lagos State University where had a Bachelor in History and International Relations and Masters in International Relations and Strategic Studies. He attended several seminars and courses both local and international in modern Criminal Investigation of organized crimes and human rights and effects of advance fee fraud to a developing nation. He is a member of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He is highly experienced and knowledgeable in developing analytical competence for managing operations and achieving operational excellence.

He started his career with Adjutant 2 Provost Battalion Nigeria Army Military Police Mokola, Ibadan, he then proceeded to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) as Commanding Military Police Unit, after that he worked as ADC to Military Governor Bauchi State. Also, he was nominated as Chairman Presidential Task Force on Financial Crimes, worked as General Manager Security – Dangote Group before he was promoted to General Manager Logistics and Distribution Dangote Group.

Mohammed Balarabe Director He holds a B.Sc. (Accounting) and Masters Business Administration. He started his career with New Africa Merchant Bank and later moved to Newdevco Finance and Services as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer before he joined United Bank of Africa. Thereafter, he became ED Oceanic Bank and then proceeded to Fidelity Bank as Executive Director where he rose to Deputy Managing Director Fidelity and retired December 2019

Idris Mohammed Mahdi Director He attended University of West London, Brunel. He has a Master’s degree in Building services Engineering. He is a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Building (FNIOB), Member, Institute of Corporate Executives of Nigeria (MICEN), Member, Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (MCORBON) He is highly experienced and knowledgeable in building engineering; he was one time an Executive Director in Estate and works, National Assembly, held Gombe State Investment and Properties Development and later the Honourable Commissioner of Water Resources, Gombe State Government.

Kasimu Garba Kurfi Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Kasimu Garba Kurfi, holds a B.Sc. (Accounting), 2nd Class Upper, from Bayero University, Kano, in 1987, and M.Sc. (Accounting) from the University of Lagos. He is a Council Member of the Nigerian Exchange Limited, an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS) respectively. He is also an authorised Dealing Clerk of the Exchange. He worked with the Ministry of Finance and deployed to the Ministry of Education in Katsina State as an Accountant, other charges.
